Job summary

Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Sandpoint, Idaho is seeking a Seasonal Utility Worker to remove snow from decks and walkways and to handle trash and basic maintenance across facilities. You will interact with guests and owners in a friendly, service-oriented manner and work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include operating a snowblower and shovel, using a trash compactor and baler, and performing other duties as directed by the Facility and Grounds Manager.

• Present a neat, safe appearance and provide service-oriented guest interaction.
• Utility Worker may perform other maintenance duties as directed by Supervisor.

Position Summary

Responsible for removal of snow from decks and walkways of all Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities. Remove trash and cardboard and deposit in compactor and baler and conduct other maintenance functions.

Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities

• Operates a snowblower and shovel to remove snow and ice from decks, walkways.
• Operate trash compactor and cardboard baler.
• Must present a neat, clean and safe appearance and deal with guests and owners in a pleasant, service-oriented manner.
• Utility Worker will perform other maintenance duties as needed or as directed by Facility and Grounds Manager.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Must have or be willing to obtain extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities.
• Will initiate guest contact on a daily basis to ensure their comfort, answer questions and provide general assistance whenever possible.
• Other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Skills

License/Certifications - Valid Driver's license preferred.

Technical - None

Physical Capabilities - Able to stand or walk up to 8 hours a day, lift up to 50lbs regularly and up to 100lbs with assistance. Will be expected to be outside in all weather conditions.

Additional - some mechanical knowhow is preferred, able to minor repairs on snowblowers.

Education/Related Experience

Minimum education required - English reading, writing, communication and basic math.
