Position Overview

Vintage Realty Company is seeking to fill a full-time hourly non-exempt Building Maintenance Engineer (BME) position to provide support for commercial office buildings in Shreveport, LA. This position reports to the Building Maintenance Engineer Manager and Property Manager. The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined, willing to train and learn new skills, be a dependable and motivated self-starter, provide excellent customer service, and have a friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular inspections, complete vacant space make readies and special projects.
  • Test and replace parts and components in plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement preventative and ongoing changes to preserve or upgrade equipment.
  • Participate in the annual budget preparation process.
  • Evaluate and maintain facility and grounds, meeting operational standards, and schedule tests.
  • Maintain fire and safety standards for all areas of the facility and grounds.
  • Supply hand tools.
  • Operate all necessary hand tools to make repairs.
  • Maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe job site.
  • Collectively execute the maintenance program ensuring timely work order service and cost-effective inventory control of property resources.
  • Take initiative to perform needed tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC certification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, etc.
