Job Summary

This position is responsible for day‑to‑day buildings maintenance responsibilities which results in professional and high quality work completed in an efficient and cost‑effective manner.

Ministry Requirements

• Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

• Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide professional and high quality work in the day‑to‑day maintenance of the buildings at the Billy Graham Training Center.
• Be diligent in the performance of work and in communications to the Supervisor. All work and movement to the next task will be done with productive effort and planning.
• Coordinate positively with the Supervisor, and communicate needs for materials and equipment to complete the task at hand.
• Know and implement with excellence construction and maintenance practices in carrying out the work.
• Follow positively the directions given by the Supervisor. Discern when assistance is required in making routine decisions regarding the best way to proceed in a particular maintenance situation.
• Commit to the implementation of the Safety Program regarding safety practices and only use equipment for which they have been trained to use.
• Work as a team member with fellow staff members in such a way that is edifying and encouraging for the good of the department.
• Represent the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association with the highest integrity.

Job Specifications

Skills and Knowledge

• Experience as a construction or maintenance worker in a particular specialized field valuable to the Billy Graham Training Center's Maintenance Department.
• Performance of work with the highest degree of quality and workmanship.
• Detailed knowledge of the operational use of maintenance and construction equipment, tools, and safety equipment pertinent to the kinds of work performed.
• General knowledge of and ability to follow the policies and procedures of the BGEA.
• Basic reading and mathematical skills normally acquired through completion of high school.

Physical / Mental Demands

• Able to work a flexible schedule as required.
• Ability to be very mobile, in and out of a vehicle, in order to perform maintenance and project operations.
• Heavy lifting is required.
• Able and licensed to drive a vehicle.
• Able to receive direction from various people in supervisory and management positions, and focus this direction into appropriate action while communicating back to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Working Conditions

• Ability to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons of the year.

Benefits Summary

Associate or Seasonal employees may work up to 19 hours a week (not to exceed 1000 hours a year, calendar/sequential), and are not eligible for any benefits.
