PD Instore in New Hope, MN is seeking a Building Lead to oversee daily operations, drive production targets, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will train staff, enter production data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on leadership across shifts and flexibility to work across multiple PD locations.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical or business degree preferred.

Summary

The Building Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring production goals are met, training employees and maintaining high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead the team while reinforcing productivity and quality driven objectives.
• Execute department and quality processes to ensure accuracy and adherence to job specifications and timelines
• Accurately enter production and job information into company database
• Troubleshoot missing information, supplies and conflicting information, etc.
• Be a change agent for driving out waste throughout the process
• Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making
• Facilitate communication between team members and address concerns within the team
• Clearly label raw material, work in progress, and finished goods
• Train new employees and coach existing employees on proper procedures and proper use of equipment
• Act as a primary point of contact with other departments for questions and problem resolution
• Ensure equipment is maintained, while maximizing equipment efficiency
• May act as back-up to supervisor in their absence.
• Responsible for making daily staffing decisions (i.e. granting on the spot time off and/or sharing resources with other departments)
• Flexibility to work between jobs, job classifications, and buildings as directed by management
• Provide flexibility to other departments and areas as required by the business
• Maintain and organize department supplies
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Will be required to participate with daily production as workloads dictate
• Ensure and enforce safety requirements and documentation

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prefer 2 year technical/business degree or equivalent

Experience

• 1-3 years lead experience in manufacturing environment
• Experience providing daily work direction to hourly/shift workers
• Experience using Microsoft Office Products
• Forklift certified, or ability to obtain forklift operating certificate

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
• Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations
• Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required throughout the workday
