Sunbelt Solomon in Spokane Valley, WA seeks a Paint Lead to manage the paint area including prep/sand, paint, and final assembly, and to support the supervisor with training, safety, and process improvements.

You will enforce safety guidelines, monitor productivity and quality, coach staff, and coordinate staffing to meet production targets. Experience in manufacturing leadership and MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years leadership experience preferred.
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred; OSHA10 is a plus.
  • Basic MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) skills required.

Job description

The Lead is responsible for the paint area. This includes prep/sand, paint, and final assembly. They will assist and support the supervisor with employee training, safety adherence, department performance, product quality, process improvement, and meeting production target goals. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role.

Enforces strict safety guidelines and ensures environmental compliance is being adhered to by employees.

  • Responsible for ensuring that the department is running efficiently and within standards for productivity, labor, and raw materials.
  • Completes department audits and ensures assigned safety and compliance training is being completed and upheld by employees.
  • Provides coaching and training to improve employee performance and acknowledges positive results when achieved.
  • Recommends staffing adjustments including hours, shifts, and overtime to meet area specific objectives.
  • Oversees and maintains a clean work environment.
  • Monitors and reports department issues.
  • Assists with identifying and implementing process improvements within the department.
  • Communicates the needs of the department to the supervisor, to ensure that the proper resources are available to meet production target goals.
  • Adheres to and communicates the policies of the company to employees and follows-up that those requirements are met.?
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting daily production metrics to the supervisor.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.
  • HS Diploma/GED preferred.
  • 1-3 years leadership experience.
  • Basic skills in MS office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • OSHA10 certification preferred.
  • Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
  • A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notifies management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
  • Ability to interpret work orders and ensure the team has what they need to be set up for success to execute.
  • Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
  • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
  • Standing and walking for long durations
  • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
  • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
  • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
