Performs senior level and experienced professional work in building inspection for the Village of Wellington (Village). Position is responsible for performing skilled technical, inspection, enforcement, and administrative work related to the enforcement of local, state, and federal construction codes for new and existing construction in area(s) of assignment.
Work is performed under direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position seeks technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

Regular attendance at work on-site is essential to maintain the necessary teamwork, personal interaction, and supervision that this position requires. Responds to emergency call-ins for hurricanes or other critical events.
Tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Tasks are regularly performed with potential for exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.

Must have manual dexterity and be able to perform repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
