Placer County in the United States seeks an experienced public administration leader to manage Juvenile Court operations and budgets. The role oversees staff performance, policy implementation, and cross‑agency coordination to ensure efficient court administration.
The incumbent will work closely with the Chief Judge, develop budgets, and guide administrative procedures, supporting juvenile justice initiatives and service delivery.
Completion of course work equivalent to the academic requirements of a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, or a related field (Juris Doctorate degree is preferred); AND six (6) years progressively responsible work experience in a juvenile court system or a related area, including four (4) years supervisory experience at a senior management level, or a year for year interchange of DEFINED education and/or experience equal to the minimum number of years required.
Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License or proof of mobility equivalent may be requested. Affiliation as a sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court.
Responsibilities include managing assigned staff, developing budgets, and assisting the Chief Judge in formulating and implementing court policies and procedures.
This is a stand-alone classification which does not fit within a classification series. Incumbent serves as Appointing Authority to oversee personnel transactions and direct resources and operations, including providing overall management of assigned court budget and non-judicial personnel.
Manages assigned staff, including establishing workloads; prioritizing work assignments; evaluating employee performance; developing, interpreting, and enforcing policies and procedures; resolving staff issues; and administering disciplinary action as required. Recruits, selects, trains, and develops court employees. Establishes ethical standards for non-judiciary court personnel. Oversees the preparation and administration of Juvenile Court’s operating and grants budgets. Establishes performance expectations for each operating unit in the Juvenile Court System and evaluates the effectiveness of functions performed by the Court. Assists the Chief Judge in formulating and implementing court policies and procedures. Provides counsel to the Chief Judge on all administrative matters. Makes court program changes as appropriate. Serves as a senior liaison to outside agencies and confers with judges, attorneys, and the general public to ensure adequate communication and review of administrative service provisions.
