Job summary

City of Burleson is seeking a Building Inspector to perform inspections of residential and commercial projects to ensure code compliance. Under general supervision, you will exercise independent judgment to render decisions to contractors and the public regarding field inspection matters based on your code knowledge and experience.

The role requires a high school diploma and two years of municipal inspector experience, with licenses as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years as a municipal Building Inspector.
• Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of residential and commercial projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
• Under general supervision of the Building Official, exercise independent judgment to render decision/direction to contractors and the public regarding field inspection matters.
• Render decisions based on code knowledge and experience to guide field inspection matters.
