Job summary

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Building Inspector to ensure safety, compliance, and quality of construction projects within communities. You will conduct thorough inspections, review plans for regulatory compliance, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to verify compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable standards.
• Review building plans, blueprints, and specifications to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and identify issues.
• Perform on-site inspections during different phases of construction to evaluate structural integrity, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, energy/green code, accessibility and safety.
• Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors to address compliance issues and ensure timely resolutions.
• Respond to inquiries regarding building codes, regulations, and inspection processes.
• Stay informed about changes in building codes and best practices; participate in training to maintain current knowledge.
• Assist in enforcement actions as necessary; provide guidance to colleagues and junior staff.
