Job summary
Bureau Veritas is seeking a meticulous Plans Examiner to review building plans for compliance with IBC/IRC and local codes, ensuring safety and energy efficiency. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve deficiencies and guide plan reviews in a dynamic environment.
The role requires knowledge of construction methods, materials, and structural design, plus proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
Qualifications
- Experience in plan reading, plan development, building inspection, or related field preferred.
- ICC Certification as a Plans Examiner or ability to obtain certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review building plans for compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.
- Examine construction plans for structural integrity, fire safety, and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors to address deficiencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and assist in training for new plans examiners.
- Stay current with building codes and participate in meetings/trainings.
