Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five years of experience in general construction or related fields is required.
• Must obtain provisional Building Inspector certification within three months of employment and Standard certification within two years.
• Valid Florida driver license is required and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect new and existing buildings to enforce building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and related codes.
• Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with County codes and approved plans.
• Issue certificates and permits; maintain inspection records and reports.
• Assist in permitting, fees, and customer guidance; respond to complex issues with stakeholders.
