Qualifications

• High school diploma with 5 years in construction or related fields.
• Must obtain provisional Building Inspector certification within 3 months.
• Must obtain Standard Building Inspector certification within 2 years.
• Valid Florida Driver License and acceptable driving record.
• Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings for compliance with county codes and standards.
• Review plans and calculations for proper code conformance.
• Enforce building, plumbing, electrical and energy conservation codes.
• Issue correction notices and permits as appropriate.
• Maintain records and assist with permitting functions.
