Job summary

Palm Beach County Building Division is seeking an inspector for highly specialized administrative and technical work related to the abatement of unsafe buildings, resolution of code enforcement citations, and specialized consumer issues.

The inspector will assess unsafe structures and initiate condemnation and abatement actions, preparing notices and maintaining records under the Building Director's supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in construction, engineering, architecture, or related work involving examining construction plans or inspecting for code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect unsafe structures and initiate action to condemn and abate them through preparing, mailing, and recording notices.
• Work under the Building Director and report via oral and written formats.
• Review code enforcement citations and resolve specialized consumer issues.
