The City of Novi is seeking a skilled Building Inspector to join our team of professionals who help keep the community safe and thriving. The role focuses on inspection of building construction and renovation to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances, with a reliable Monday–Friday schedule and a strong commitment to customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, at least 10 years of field experience, and registration as a Michigan Building

• Minimum 10 years of field experience.
• Registered Building Inspector with the State of Michigan under Act 407.
• Strong customer service and public interaction skills.

Qualifications

• Required education level includes high school diploma
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Minimum 10 years of field experience
• Registered Building Inspector with the State of Michigan under Act 407
• Proven track record of establishing and continuing effective working relationships with co-workers and the public
• Demonstrated ability to consistently and effectively provide a high level of service in accordance with the Novi Guest Service Guarantee Policy to all customers and visitors serviced by, as well as within in the City organization.
