Job summary

TYG is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant in New York City to work on façades, roofs, and building envelope systems across high-rise residential, commercial, cultural, and institutional projects. You will perform investigations, develop design documents, and provide construction administration while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Architecture or Engineering, with 3+ years in building envelope consulting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture or Engineering.
• 3+ years in building envelope consulting, façade restoration, roofing, or related practice.
• Knowledge of NYC façade rules including FISP/Local Law 11 preferred.
• Strong technical writing, detailing, and communication skills.
• Licenses such as RA, PE, or QEWI are a plus.

I am currently partnering with a fast-growing Architecture and Engineering firm in New York City that is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join their team.

This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects ranging from high-rise residential towers to commercial, cultural, and institutional buildings while gaining exposure to some of the most challenging and rewarding restoration and design work in the city.

What You’ll Do

• Perform façade and roof investigations, condition assessments, leak investigations, and field inspections
• Prepare detailed reports, technical drawings, and repair or replacement recommendations
• Develop design documents for façade, roofing, waterproofing, and building envelope systems
• Provide construction administration services including shop drawing review, submittals, RFIs, and site observations
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to deliver practical and innovative solutions
• Stay current with NYC regulations including FISP (Local Law 11) and other building code requirements

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture or Engineering
• Minimum of three years of experience in building envelope consulting, façade restoration, roofing, or related practice
• Knowledge of NYC façade rules including FISP or Local Law 11 is highly desirable
• Strong technical writing, detailing, and communication skills
• Professional licenses such as RA, PE, or QEWI are a plus but not required, and support will be provided toward licensure
