Job summary

The American Red Cross in Johnstown, PA is seeking a Building Engineer to oversee maintenance and repair of regulated facilities and to evaluate building systems, electrical and plumbing design, ensuring compliance with SOPs and federal, state, and local regulations.

You will act as an onsite SME for building systems, coordinate preventive maintenance, manage work orders, and support safety and emergency preparedness while traveling within Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or trade school certificate required.
• Current Universal Refrigerant license, OSHA 10 and HVAC certification required.
• Experience in laboratories, hospitals, SDS or CGMP environments preferred.
• ASHE membership or ability to obtain and maintain.

Responsibilities

• Act as onsite subject matter expert on building engineering and maintenance planning.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment and related machinery.
• Ensure regulatory standards and safety procedures are met.
• Maintain the building maintenance system and manage work orders.
• Coordinate emergency generator operations and security access controls.
