Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Building Engineer for the Greater Pennsylvania Region. The position is based in Johnstown and will include travel throughout the state.

The role oversees maintenance of regulated facilities, advises on building systems, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance in a mission-driven environment. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities to contribute to life-saving programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent trade certificate required.
• Universal Refrigerant license, OSHA 10 and HVAC certification required.
• ASHE membership or ability to obtain and maintain.

Responsibilities

• Act as onsite subject matter expert on building engineering.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and related machinery.
• Ensure regulatory operations meet minimum compliance standards.
• Enforce safety policies and maintain safety documentation.
• Oversee work-order system and dispatch for maintenance requests.
• Provide administration support including preventive maintenance scheduling and inventory.
