La Vida Llena in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Full-Time Building Engineer Lead to oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems while guiding the maintenance team.

In this role you will lead daily maintenance, coordinate vendors, respond to alarms, and ensure safety and compliance, with opportunities for professional growth in a not-for-profit Life Plan community.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in engineering, maintenance, HVAC, or related trades.
• Experience mentoring or guiding team members.
• Advanced trade certifications and relevant licenses preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety systems.
• Proficient with MS Office, CMMS, BAS and EMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and assist with projects and quality control.

Overview

La Vida Llena is Albuquerque's premier not-for-profit Life Plan Community, offering residents a vibrant lifestyle, exceptional amenities, and a welcoming environment. We are seeking a Full-Time Building Engineer Lead to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems while providing leadership and technical guidance to the maintenance team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead daily maintenance operations, assign work orders, support scheduling efforts, and provide training and guidance to team members and subcontractors.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, access control, and other building systems throughout the community.
• Perform advanced preventative maintenance and corrective repairs while assisting with quality control and project execution.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor activities, estimate material needs, and ensure compliance with safety standards and building regulations.
• Respond to community alarms, emergency calls, and facility issues while supporting a safe and welcoming environment for residents.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 annually, DOE

About You

• Minimum of five years of experience in engineering, maintenance, HVAC, MEP, or a related skilled trade.
• Experience providing training, mentorship, or technical guidance to employees or work teams.
• Advanced trade certifications, HVAC certification, or Universal Recovery License preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, and building systems maintenance.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with experience using Microsoft Office, CMMS, BAS, and EMS systems.
