Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations across plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling to uphold performance and safety.

You'll perform preventive maintenance, support energy management, and lead with CBRE's RISE values, while pursuing the New Jersey C2 Wastewater Operator License as required for this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain the New Jersey C2 Wastewater Operator License.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety and control systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives for building operations.
• Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials; keep a clean workspace.
• Review building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) to meet design specs and client environmental targets.
• Apply standard principles to solve complex tasks and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across related disciplines.
• Lead by example and help build consensus in CBRE RISE values.
• Impact activities across teams and projects within the department.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly.
• Ability to obtain the New Jersey C2 Wastewater Operator License.
