Job summary

JLL is hiring a Building Engineer 2 in Costa Mesa, CA to operate, maintain and repair critical facility systems. The role focuses on HVAC, electrical and plumbing with BAS-driven diagnostics and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.

You will perform routine inspections, respond to emergencies, and document activities in CMMS. Requires CFC certification, 3+ years in similar settings, and ability to lift 50 pounds. On-site work, day shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; two years of trade school in electrical, refrigeration or HVAC.
• Universal CFC Technician Certification.
• 3+ years in commercial/industrial maintenance with HVAC, plumbing or electrical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVACR, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose issues using BAS, schematics, blueprints and readings.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVACR, chillers, boilers, pumps and related equipment.
• Support electrical maintenance including low/medium voltage, lighting and power distribution.
• Complete repairs for plumbing, doors, gates, fire safety equipment, eyewash stations and material handling systems.
• Conduct daily inspections and startup procedures for critical building systems.
• Maintain records in CMMS/PM and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
