Job summary

Gallup seeks a hands-on Building Engineer to maintain the Omaha Riverfront campus and its 500 associates. You’ll oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other systems, perform preventive maintenance and respond to issues to minimize downtime, all while documenting activities and supporting exterior campus upkeep.

Ideal candidates have strong on-site maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least four years of building, property or facilities maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical building systems.
  • Able to lift 25-100 pounds and perform hands-on maintenance tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate Gallup vehicles.
  • Electrical experience preferred; on-site five days a week.
  • United States work eligibility; visa sponsorship not available.
  • Reliable, hands-on problem solvers who own their work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair campus HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to keep systems safe and efficient.
  • Respond to service needs, diagnose problems and implement reliable solutions.
  • Monitor building systems and prevent downtime through proactive actions.
  • Complete hands-on maintenance including painting, plumbing, light construction and repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized service.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs and campus activities.
  • Support exterior campus upkeep, landscaping and campus appearance.
  • Operate Gallup vehicles for material transport and runs.
  • Respond to after-hours and weekend emergencies when needed.

Job description

Help keep one of Omaha’s premier riverfront workplaces safe, reliable and exceptional.

As a building engineer at Gallup, you’ll help maintain the workplace for approximately 500 associates at our 400,000-square-foot Omaha Riverfront campus. From maintaining critical HVAC and mechanical systems to troubleshooting unexpected issues, you’ll put your technical expertise and problem‑solving instincts to work every day. In this role, you’ll join a small, trusted team where taking ownership matters and where the quality of your work is visible to everyone who works at or visits our campus from around the globe.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair the campus’s HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other mechanical building systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to keep equipment and building systems operating safely and efficiently
  • Respond to service needs, diagnose problems and implement reliable solutions
  • Monitor building systems and identify unusual conditions, potential failures and opportunities to prevent downtime
  • Complete hands‑on maintenance and repair work, including painting, plumbing, light construction, remodeling, assembly and general repairs
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors when specialized service or additional support is needed
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and other building activities
  • Support the upkeep of Gallup’s outdoor campus, including exterior maintenance, landscaping, mowing, watering, snow removal and overall campus appearance
  • Operate Gallup vehicles for material transport, store runs and other business needs
  • Respond to after-hours and weekend building emergencies when needed

What You Need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least four years of experience in building, property or facilities maintenance required
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical building systems required
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing 25-100 pounds and perform the physical requirements of hands‑on building maintenance required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate Gallup vehicles required
  • Electrical experience preferred
  • A commitment to working on‑site at Gallup’s Omaha office five days per week required
  • Flexibility to work a Monday through Friday schedule required, generally 7 a.m.-4 p.m. or 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and respond to after-hours and weekend emergencies as needed
  • Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship
