Job summary

ECS is seeking a Building Enclosure Staff Associate to join our Southwest Building Science + Infrastructure team in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will support building enclosure consulting projects while developing foundational skills in field investigations, testing, technical analysis, and report preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Architecture (NCARB).
• 0 years of related experience required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP) would go a long way.

Responsibilities

• Support building science & infrastructure testing, inspections, and consulting services.
• Conduct site observations and inspections of roofing and building enclosure systems with guidance from senior staff.
• Learn to interpret drawings, figures, and site plans; assist with drafting or CAD work when needed.
• Assist with specialized building enclosure testing and development of testing protocols.
• Document site observations and prepare field reports describing findings and conditions.
• Assist with analysis of field observations and testing results to support project conclusions.
• Develop familiarity with building codes and standards including IBC and local codes related to building enclosure systems.
