About our Department:

The General Services Department consists of several divisions in different locations throughout the City. The Facilities Projects Division manages new construction, additions, and alterations of City-owned buildings and parks. The Maintenance Division oversees the maintenance and janitorial services of City-owned structures and properties.

Building Custodian II Position Overview:

This is lead manual work cleaning, securing, and performing janitorial maintenance of public buildings and facilities. Work involves responsibility for routine cleaning and maintenance; opening and closing facilities; and responsibility for maintaining the security of public facilities particularly during public functions. Assignments are received from a Facilities Janitorial Supervisor or Custodial and Security Supervisor and the incumbent is expected to work independently carrying out daily work assignments in accordance with established procedures.

Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:

High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency is desired; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

A valid driver's license is required.
