Job summary

BestLogic Staffing is seeking a Building Automation Controls Software Engineer to work on Direct Digital Control (DDC) projects, focusing on programming, monitoring, and commissioning BAS including HVAC systems in Hartford, CT.

You will update graphics for system monitoring, troubleshoot issues across HVAC and controller hardware, and maintain as-built documentation while ensuring compliance with design specs and regulatory standards. 2+ years programming experience required; 5 years preferred.

Our client is seeking a Building Automation Controls Software Engineer. The ideal candidate will work independently under the guidance of the Operations and Engineering Manager, focusing on engineering new DDC projects and supporting various building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC systems. This role involves a range of tasks from system programming to troubleshooting and commissioning, all while ensuring high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Programming & Engineering
  • Engineering new Direct Digital Control (DDC) projects.
  • Programming, monitoring, and installing building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC and integrated systems.
  • Updating and maintaining the graphical web interface for system monitoring and diagnostics.
• Troubleshooting & Commissioning

Position Qualifications:

• Required Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in programming, with five (5) years preferred.
  • Experience with building automation systems, including HVAC, is essential.
• Educational Requirements
  • A 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology is a plus.
• Certifications & Skills
  • Tridium AX certification highly preferred.
  • Experience with temperature control systems (Alerton, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Trane, Schneider, Siemens) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with BACnet, DDC, Niagara AX, ALC, Siemens, or Metasys is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Visio, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and PDF software is a plus.
