Job description

Founded in 2022, GreenLite is the industry leader in AI-native permit intelligence in the United States. GreenLite exists to eliminate permitting as a variable in enterprise development pipelines. We deliver permits, not software, for many of the nation's largest public retailers, developers, and production home builders, and our customers save months on each project.

Permit Intelligence is how we work. Licensed architects and engineers do the review, with AI assist on pattern recognition, comment generation, and roadmap building. Every project we deliver adds to what our team and our tools know about how permits get approved across the country.

Our mission: Accelerate development of safer communities using cutting-edge technology and industry expertise.

GreenLite has raised capital from the country's leading venture capital investors, including Insight Partners, who led GreenLite's $49M Series B. We're well capitalized to deliver on that mission across the country.

The Role

GreenLite is seeking a Building Compliance Architect/Engineer to lead the review and approval of our clients' construction documents within a Service Delivery pod. You will review plans for compliance with local and national building codes under state and municipal private provider laws, work with multidisciplinary teams and client design teams, and make sure every submission aligns with AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements. The role combines hands-on plan review, quality control, and design team coordination to deliver timely, compliant commercial building permits.

What you'll be doing

On any given day, you can expect to do the following key activities:

  • Reviewing construction plans for compliance with all applicable regulatory codes and standards.
  • Providing guidance and corrections to project design teams to keep design systems consistent and of high quality.
  • Certifying plans for submission to local authorities as a private provider, in coordination with the client's Architect of Record / Engineer of Record
  • Communicating with design teams and regulatory authorities to resolve design issues and clarify review comments.
  • Writing and approving comment letters, and running office hours with design teams.
  • Making sure documentation and permit applications are accurate and submitted promptly.
  • Supporting your pod's Project Manager and Permit Coordinator by gathering documentation, completing applications, and working with government agencies.
  • Sharing architectural or engineering expertise and product feedback with cross-functional teams to improve internal processes and software.
  • Using GreenLite's AI-assisted review tools, and AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini

  • Proven experience in project management and client interaction.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to use, or quickly learn, multiple software applications
  • Working proficiency with AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini
