As a key member of Electronic System Services, Inc. (ESSI), the Building Automation Technician will be responsible for field commissioning of HVAC automation systems. This role ensures the proper operation of HVAC systems by reviewing drawings, confirming sequences of operation, and verifying point-to-point connections in the field. The technician works closely with the project team to deliver a fully functional system to the customer.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Review & Scope Breakdown: Review project specifications, drawings, and documents before beginning work. Break down the scope of work into manageable segments and communicate with the Project Manager for reporting.
• Project Coordination: Attend or receive meeting minutes from project team meetings with customers. Provide the Project Manager with updates on site conditions.
• As-Built Documentation: Produce project-specific as-built drawings based on initial construction drawings and field modification mark-ups.
• Standards Compliance: Cooperate in the establishment and enforcement of engineering and programming standards to ensure consistency across projects.
• System Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field related to installed systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Quality & Customer Satisfaction: Maintain the highest quality standards and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the commissioning process.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science is desired. Would consider trade school or similar program.
• Two (2) years’ experience with the production of DDC / BAS systems. If not, we would train the right candidate.
• Experience with Siemens, Tridium, and Alerton, or another BAS line .
• Understanding of mechanical HVAC equipment .
• Understanding of electrical and network wiring .
• Understanding of standard BAS components and programming of these components .
• Excellent computer skills and intimate familiarity with MS-Office products (Word, Excel, Access). We would like you to have some AutoCAD, Visual Basic, Visio and Alerton/Tridium product experience but it is not required.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• You must have a valid driver’s license from the State of Florida
• Able to pass background check
