Job summary

Edison Smart is seeking a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to support our client’s operations in Austin, TX. You will install, commission, and maintain BAS for commercial and industrial facilities, and you’ll troubleshoot hardware, software, controllers, sensors, and network connections to keep systems running efficiently.

You will program and optimize HVAC control sequences, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to service calls.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Building Automation Systems or HVAC controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the Austin area.

Responsibilities

Edison Smart are looking to hire a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to join our client's growing team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you'll install, troubleshoot, service, and optimize building automation and controls systems for commercial and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, controllers, sensors, actuators, and network communications.
• Program, modify, and optimize HVAC control sequences.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to service calls.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently while minimizing downtime.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
• Configure and troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus, and other building automation protocols.
• Document service activities, programming changes, and project progress.
• Work closely with customers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project completion.
• Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Building Automation Systems or HVAC controls.
• Experience with Siemens building automation systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Siemens Desigo CC, Apogee, or other Siemens BAS platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and IP networking.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally within the Austin area.
