Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System's Main Campus is seeking a Building Automation Systems Tech I to join the Facilities Engineering-Operations team in Cleveland. This evenings shift (2:30pm–11:00pm) offers a rewarding role maintaining BAS, monitoring temperatures and alarms, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

You will collaborate with caregivers across the campus, respond to system issues, assist with calibration and inventory, and travel locally as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of exposure/understanding of HVAC or BAS.
• Strong customer service background.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, analyzing and/or maintaining Building Automation Systems, remote connections and system malfunctions.
• Respond to alarms and alerts.
• Ensure safe and effective operations and working environments.
• Monitor critical temperature and humidity devices (meters/gauges).
• Assist with inspecting and calibrating devices.
• Assist other caregivers with inventory.
• Record sensor and control devices related to digital/pneumatic systems.
• Work at other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

A caregiver in this position works days Monday - Friday from 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. with the ability to travel locally in Northeast Ohio as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• One year of exposure and demonstrated understanding of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) or building automation systems (BAS).
• Strong customer service background.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

• Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders.
• Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery.
• Typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.
• Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
