Job Description: Responds to service requests, emergency service calls, expected to maintain positive customer relationships at all times, and has an in-depth knowledge of the ALC platform.
JOB DUTIES
- Troubleshoots and repairs building automation system field cabinets, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, or coordinates repair of building automation equipment.
- Writes and debugs computer programs for the building automation system such as energy consumption reports and utility distribution reports.
- Coordinates university and contractor's personnel for additions and modifications of the building automation system, as needed.
- Monitors work in progress and job costs on building automation systems.
- Assists in the design and implementation of various building automation hardware and computer software systems.
- Prepares drawings and diagrams of system additions or revisions after installation.
EDUCATION
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Formal OJT or Apprentice Program.
- Completion of a two year vocational training program or apprenticeship training program in related HVAC field.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Minimum 10 years field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration and experience with pneumatic controls.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical fields.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem solving skills.
- Competency in Networking TCP/IP, MSTP protocols, within Modbus, LON, and BACnet applications.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and have a good driving history. May not have more than two moving violations in a three-year period.
