Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Building Automation Systems Supervisor to lead the BAS team and oversee the maintenance, development, daily operation and budgeting of the health system’s building control systems at James Cancer Hospital.

You will interview, hire, conduct performance reviews and provide direction on BAS initiatives, ensuring integration with the Medical Center’s mission and safe, reliable operations of mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum three years of experience required, preferably with prior leadership experience.
• Four to eight years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and testing HVAC control systems.

**SCOPE OF POSITION**The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.This Facilities Services Department position supports Wexner Medical Center and university goals.Systems and equipment are operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position is subject to callback.**POSITION SUMMARY**The Building Automation Systems Supervisor is responsible for the interviewing, hiring performance review and direct supervision of all assigned personnel; in addition, for the maintenance, development, daily operation, and budgeting of the health system building control systems. Provides direction on major initiatives and projects; ensures the integration of building automation systems with the overall mission of the Wexner Medical Center. Provides direction on building automation system strategies, procedures, policies and methodologies to ensure patient, visitor and staff safety.Contributes strategic vision and serves as the top-level technical contributor in the planning, development, implementation, functionality and evaluation of building automation systems that support, enhance and ensure effective, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of mechanical systems and equipment, building controls and utilities for the Medical Center.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS****For Hire:*** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience* Minimum three years of experience required, preferably with prior leadership experience.**Desired:*** Four to eight years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and testing of HVAC control systems and related equipment, required* In-depth knowledge of BACnet systems to include complex building HVAC system applications and engineering, LANs commands/configurations, alarming, scheduling, proprietary interfaces, integration and system management, PC operation and workstation software; network training and/or experience working with network configurations and troubleshooting; broad knowledge of a variety of direct digital control systems;; knowledge of Switch Programming and IP infrastructure/networks.* Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical blueprints and drawings, required* Extensive experience/knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, and electrical systems in industrial/commercial environments, including a working knowledge of: + Air Handling Systems + BACnet integration between multiple manufacturers + Chilled Water systems + Control Systems + Heating systems + Pneumatic Control Systems + Smoke control systems + Steam* Building Automation management, programming and networking experience, required* Ability to create and maintain strong team collaboration; foster a positive work environment* Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse and customer service focused environment; build constructive and effective relationships within team and across the organization* Ability to coach and encourage employee performance and development* Ability to comfortably handle risk and uncertainty; can act without having total picture available* Demonstrated proficient diagnostic skills - able to systematically identify and resolve technical problems**Career Roadmap**FUNCTION: Facilities, Engineering and AcquisitionSUBFUNCTION: Building Automation Systems (BAS)CAREER BAND: People Leader - ManagerialCAREER LEVEL: M1## Additional Information:## Location:James Cancer Hospital (0375)## Position Type:Regular## Scheduled Hours:40## **Shift:**First Shift***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
