Job summary

ATS Companies is seeking a Building Automation Field Service Engineer in Manassas, VA to troubleshoot, calibrate, repair and operate control systems across HVAC and related equipment. You will analyze performance, perform maintenance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on site.

The role requires hands-on expertise with DDC controls, electronics, and electrical circuits, plus a willingness to travel up to 50% and work in construction-adjacent environments.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certificate in an Applied Technologies field.
• Knowledge of DDC Control Theory & Applications.
• Exposure to electronics and basic electrical circuits.
• Exposure to basic programming concepts.
• Practice working with mechanical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting basic and complex problems.
• Electrical-06A license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, repair and operate building automation control systems.
• Analyze building control and mechanical system performance.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks (Back-ups, Control System Analysis, Network Analysis and Optimization, Central Equipment Controls Testing, Customer Training).
• Troubleshoot DDC Control and Mechanical Systems.
• Replace failed components as necessary.
• Liaise with Supervisor, Service Coordinator, Account Managers and Customer teams.
• Modify and create project-specific controls programming.
• Contribute to company-wide standards and continuous improvement.
