Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy is seeking an Automation Estimator to accurately price controls materials, systems, and services for a complete building automation system. You will determine costs, analyze customer requirements and craft quotation strategies to win proposals.

The role requires knowledge of mechanical systems and HVAC controls, experience in estimating for commercial building automation, and strong communication skills to liaise with buyers and vendors.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or HVAC experience.
• 2+ years’ experience estimating/selling in commercial building automation/HVAC.
• HVAC Take-Off estimating experience a plus.
• Broad understanding of Mechanical systems (Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers) and HVAC Controls Systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction plans.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.
• Experience with energy management solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn internal systems.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Self‑starter with ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Strong negotiating and organizational skills; manage orders through manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Price controls materials, systems, and services for building automation.
• Determine costs and formulate quotation strategies.
• Analyze customer requirements and sources to develop winning quotations.
• Collaborate with Estimating, Engineering and Sales to meet customer needs.
• Identify cost/availability of materials and prepare estimates for quotations.
• Utilize estimating documents and programs to generate bill of material and labor estimates.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and support order closure.
