Kinetic Search Strategies, LLC is seeking a Design Engineer for Building Automation and HVAC controls optimization in Washington, DC. You will own BAS retrofit projects from site surveys to commissioning and post-project optimization, mentored by an experienced manager.

Qualifications

3+ years engineering experience in BAS/energy space.
Ability to read and mark up mechanical and controls drawings.
Strong communication and coordination skills for working with clients and teams.
Willingness to grow technically and take on greater project ownership.

Responsibilities

Turn buildings into better-performing systems by site surveys and defining project scope for DDC/BAS upgrades.
Develop complete RFP packages with point lists, drawings, specs, and documentation.
Develop sequences of operation based on system conditions and project goals.
Create commissioning scripts and coordinate with controls contractors through commissioning.
Review submittals and drawings, resolve field issues, and manage punch-list deficiencies.
Train facilities personnel on upgraded controls post-turnover.
Lead post-commissioning optimization to verify energy savings.
