Job summary

Jobot seeks a Building Automation Engineer in Richmond, VA to design, implement, and maintain advanced BAS, integrating HVAC, lighting, and energy management to improve efficiency.

You will develop control strategies, create sequences, perform system integration, and provide training and documentation for owners and operators.

This onsite role emphasizes collaboration with project teams to deliver reliable BAS solutions with safety and quality focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and electrical systems.
• Experience with BAS platforms (Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell).
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, TCP/IP networking.
• Proficiency in programming languages used in automation (Java, Python).
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Construction site safety awareness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and implement BAS for HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
• Develop control strategies and sequences of operation for optimization.
• Integrate systems and devices across building systems.
• Conduct site surveys to assess customer needs and requirements.
• Provide site-specific training for owners and operators.
• Troubleshoot, commission, and support BAS installations.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure on-time project execution.
• Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and configurations.
• Monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Diagnose defects and perform commissioning and Test & Balance.
