Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a field-based technician to install and service building automation systems at customer locations. You will interpret control drawings, prepare for installation, manage inventory, and ensure project documentation is complete. Regular travel and overnight stays are required.

The role requires 2–5 years of HVAC/Controls experience, high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. Proficiency with MS Office and basic handheld device use is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2–5 years HVAC/Controls experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; handheld devices
• Knowledge of low voltage electricity, electronics, and direct digital controls
• Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months; no major violations
• Prior experience with DDC controls preferred

Responsibilities

• Install building automation systems and control networks
• Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications for temperature control systems
• Prepare for on-site installation and coordinate with other trades
• Maintain inventory and document all activities
• Complete paperwork daily and report promptly
• Serve as customer contact; diagnose and repair equipment on-site
• Inspect and maintain vehicles, tools, and safety practices
• Travel regularly with occasional overnight stays
