Description

Are you someone who takes pride in keeping spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained? Do you enjoy working in a dynamic environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join the Erie Community Center as our Building Attendant!

In this role, you will be responsible for performing custodial and maintenance duties, ensuring that our community spaces at the Erie Community Center, Erie Community Park, Coal Creek Café, and the Ballpark at Erie remain clean, functional, and welcoming for all patrons.

All staff are expected to adhere to the Town’s mission, vision, and values of TRUE.

Anticipated Work Schedule
  • Our ideal candidates will have availability in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Part-time hours may include early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed; not to exceed 130 hours/month on average. Schedule may vary depending on program specific needs.

$18.20/hr - $20.47/hr

Full Range

$18.20/hr - $22.74/hr

Duties And Responsibilities
Building Attendant Duties
  • Performs custodial and building maintenance services at various town facilities
  • May perform grounds maintenance including trash removal, snow, and ice removal
  • Sets up and tears down equipment for activities, rentals, meetings, and events
  • Opens and closes specific areas of the facility
  • Maintains work areas, facilities, supplies, and equipment for safety and sanitation
  • Operates Town-owned vehicles responsibly following policies
  • Enforces safety rules and policies to ensure guest safety
  • May administer first aid, CPR, and other medical attention as needed
  • Communicates with supervisory staff on projects and work orders
  • Provides guest service, responds to inquiries, comments, and complaints
  • Completes paperwork including records, logs, and incident reports
  • Reports issues with inventory, facilities, and incidents
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings
Town Wide Expectations/Duties
  • Maintain a professional image and high ethical standards
  • Inspect facilities for safety and report concerns
  • Enforce policies and procedures
  • Complete safety training and ensure staff compliance
  • Support department and town goals
Other/Miscellaneous
  • Perform other duties as assigned; may assist Facility Maintenance
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • One-year related experience preferred
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within three months
Pre-employment Screenings
  • Background checks including criminal scan, sex-offender registry, and DMV report
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of recreational operations, policies, safety procedures, and excellent communication skills. Ability to handle emergency situations, provide customer service, and work effectively under stress.

Environmental & Physical Factors

Work includes indoor and outdoor environments, driving, and physical activities such as lifting 50 lbs or more.
