Job summary

A local educational institution is seeking a part-time Building Aide starting immediately. BUILDING AIDE

The Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of part‑time Building Aide starting immediately. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Building Aide. As a Building Aide, you will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of children. Your primary role will be to facilitate a positive and engaging play environment while maintaining a focus on safety.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and supervise children during playground activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Encourage and promote positive social interactions among children.
  • Enforce rules and guidelines to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Assist children with basic needs, such as using restroom facilities and obtaining first aid if necessary.
  • Communicate with administration regarding any concerns or incidents that may arise.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain calm in a fast‑paced environment.

Working Hours and Compensation: This position is part‑time, 13 hours per week and may involve flexible hours, depending on the specific needs of the building. Hours generally fall between 10:30 and 1:00 pm. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook.
Other Requirements

Applicants must possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 – PA Criminal Record; Act 114 – FBI Background Check; Act 151 – PA Child Abuse Clearance.

The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre‑employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.
