Job summary

The Borgata at MGM Resorts International in Atlantic City seeks a Buffet Sous Chef to lead kitchen operations and uphold exceptional food quality while delivering a welcoming dining experience.

You will train and supervise cooks and staff, manage requisitions, inventory, and scheduling, and assist the Executive Chef in driving profit, product excellence, and guest satisfaction in a high-volume casino resort environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of supervising experience.
• 5+ years in high-volume restaurant production in hotel/casino environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train Master Cooks, Cooks, Pantry Workers and Helpers.
• Ensure requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated area.
• Label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
• Maintain knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups.
• Communicate with management and service staff to fulfill guest requests.
• Assist the Executive Chef by controlling purchasing, receiving, and inventory.
• Prepare and administer kitchen schedule.
• Assist Executive Chef by establishing goals and objectives focusing on profit, product and people.
