Y-Axis is seeking a Cook to ensure quality, taste, and freshness of buffet offerings. You will prepare hot and cold items, grill and fry to spec, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment to deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

The role requires speed, organization, and adherence to product specifications. Flexible schedule and ability to lift up to 70 lbs are needed to succeed in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Professional appearance and grooming.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work long or split shifts.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic culinary training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot items and display cooking per recipes.
• Grill items to specification to ensure quality.
• Ensure fried foods are prepared fresh and served hot.
• Stock and set up stations for smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain FIFO inventory and rotate stock.
• Monitor temperatures and maintain safe cooking/holding temperatures.
• Keep kitchen clean and sanitized.
• Provide friendly guest service and assist with food choices.
