Job summary

Miraval Berkshires Resort and Spa is seeking a Buffet Attendant for part‑time morning shifts. You will support the Food & Beverage team by maintaining breakfast and lunch buffets, ensuring stations are set and clean, and assisting culinary staff with prep and cold items.

The role emphasizes proactive service, energy, and attention to safety standards. The ideal candidate embraces hospitality, can manage busy service periods, and works well with guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Ability to work extended hours on your feet.
• Ability to carry up to 25lbs at one time.
• Interpersonal skills for genuine, fluid communication with guests and staff.
• Knowledge of food safety a plus.
• Availability must include weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buffet area cleanliness before and after service.
• Set buffet stations to standard and on time with training aids.
• Stock shelves with clean, dry plates and bowls and set up service ware.
• Maintain signage and identifiers on buffet items.
• Stock buffet items during service and coordinate with hot line for refills.
• Ensure cleanliness of buffet and surrounding area.
• Break down buffet at end of service and store equipment properly.
• Prep buffet items for the next service with the culinary team.
• Assist in cold prep during downtime with the culinary team.
• Keep garde manger and walk‑in cooler clean, labeled, and organized.
• Practice basic food service hygiene.

Miraval Buffet Attendants are an essential member of the Food & Beverage department. This individual maintains the service standard of the restaurant breakfast and lunch buffets, ensuring that all guest experiences exceed expectation. Buffet Attendants provide support to the F&B & Culinary teams so that all guests are provided with the highest level of service. Buffet attendants should be proactive, high energy, detailed oriented, and aware of basic foodservice safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure that the buffet area, including table surfaces, shelving, and floors are clean and free of debris before and after service.
• Ensure that all buffet stations are set to standard and on time, utilizing the training aids provided.
• Setting, maintaining, and storing all buffet identifiers and any other signage provided.
• Stocking shelves with clean, dry plates and bowls.
• Setting the buffet with all food items and appropriate service ware.
• Stocking buffet items during service including making calls to the hot line for backup refills.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the buffet and the surrounding floor space.
• Breaking down the buffet at end of service; ensuring that equipment is cleaned and properly stored.
• Prepping any buffet items necessary for the following service alongside the culinary team.
• During down time, working with the culinary team to assist in cold prep.
• Ensuring that used kitchen spaces including the garde manger station and the walk‑in cooler are clean, organized, and all food products are properly labeled and stored.
• Practice basic food service hygiene.
