Job summary

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor for the Military Aircraft Group on 2nd shift at our Buffalo, NY site. You will lead 30-40 machinists in a machine shop, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost while shaping workforce planning and development.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, 3-5 years in manufacturing, and at least 5 years of direct management experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting.
• At least 5 years of direct management experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 30-40 employees in a machine shop setting.
• Work with the Manufacturing Manager to develop Value Stream Improvement Plans to achieve high impact results.
• Identify and measure short and long-term team goals, which comply with the organizational strategic plans.
• Use established standard work documents to assure utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment to provide optimum flow at the least possible cost to meet delivery commitments.
• Hire new employees, and evaluate existing personnel within the team, for performance management and talent growth and development.
• Proactively address and resolve all employee relations matters in a timely manner to mitigate potential challenges.
• Manage employee counseling, discipline and performance feedback.
• Ensure accurate employee time reporting. Provide good organization/employee relations within areas by administering all personnel policies fairly and consistently.
