• Monitor plating, temperatures, and portions; assist with orders.

The Food Prep position performs routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and sweeping/mopping floors etc.Ensure all food and other items are stored properlyComply with prep list and sanitation guidelinesLabel and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessiblePrepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, etc.Prepare and measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking, as well as prep for Pantry and Line CooksSet up sanitizer buckets, with towels for stationTemperature checks of all walk-in coolersDisinfect prep area surfacesWash knives and cutting boards, and keep stations cleanCheck food plating, temperature, and portions for all dishesSterilize kitchen equipment at the end of your shiftMonitor stock and place orders, as neededRestock all necessary itemsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School/GED or higher education preferred1+ year(s) of experience in high-paced kitchen environment preferredKnowledge in storing ingredients preferredMust know how to clean, sharpen, maintain kitchen knivesKnowledge of food ingredients preferredSKILLS & ABILITIESThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop or kneel.
