Job summary

Flower Shak in New York is hiring a Budtender to deliver exceptional customer service in a relaxed cannabis retail environment. You will educate customers, help them choose products, and stay compliant with NY cannabis laws.

We offer an hourly wage of $18.00-$22.00, employee discounts, time off, a fun workplace, and opportunities for advancement into management. Must be 21+, able to stand all day, and pass compliance checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age (per NY State law).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience; cannabis industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a love of learning product information and be enthusiastic about the cannabis industry.
• Basic math and computer skills; familiarity with POS systems preferred.
• Knowledge of New York State cannabis laws and compliance requirements strongly preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available Monday – Sunday during our locations operating hours.
• Employment contingent upon compliance with applicable New York State cannabis regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and engaging customers, providing an educational and welcoming experience.
• Assisting customers in selecting products based on their needs, preferences, and tolerance.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all cannabis products, including flower, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, and topicals.
• Accurately processing sales transactions using the dispensary’s POS and tracking systems.
• Verifying customer identification and medical/recreational eligibility in accordance with New York State cannabis laws.
• Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and inventory accuracy in the retail space.
• Ensuring product display compliance and assist with inventory restocking and merchandising as needed.
• Supporting store operations by following cash-handling, security, and reporting procedures.
• Upholding strict confidentiality and professionalism when discussing cannabis usage or customer information.
• Assisting with opening and closing duties as assigned by management.
