Job summary

East Coast Buds, a New York State licensed adult-use cannabis dispensary, seeks friendly Budtenders to join our team. You will greet customers, verify IDs, educate on products, and process sales with accuracy and care.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Retail, hospitality, or customer service experience required.
• Willingness to learn about cannabis products and NY regulations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and ID verification.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide a welcoming, professional, and educational shopping experience.
• Verify customer identification and ensure all age and entry requirements are met.
• Educate customers on cannabis products, including product types, cannabinoids, serving sizes, consumption methods, onset and duration, and responsible-use considerations within the scope of training.
• Maintain current knowledge of products, brands, promotions, and inventory to accurately assist customers.
• Process sales through the POS system while following purchase limits, cash-handling, payment, and transaction procedures.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, merchandising, inventory reconciliation, product organization, and maintaining a clean and professional sales floor.
• Follow all company SOPs and NYS OCM requirements, including opening/closing, security, product handling, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Protect cannabis inventory from unauthorized access, theft, loss, or diversion and report discrepancies or security concerns to management.
• Complete all required compliance, product knowledge, safety, security, and company training; collaborate with management and team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales floor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

• Complete all required compliance, product knowledge, safety, security, and company training; collaborate with management and team members and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales floor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must meet be 21 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail, hospitality or customer service are required. Previous cannabis industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to remain calm and professional when handling difficult customer situations.
• Ability and willingness to learn about cannabis products, cannabinoids, consumption methods, responsible use, and NYS cannabis regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Comfortable using POS systems, tablets, computers, and other retail technology.
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be available to work a flexible retail schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain standing or walking for extended periods during a shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive retail tasks, including stocking and organizing merchandise.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
