Job description

The Budget Operation Lead is accountable for managing and verifying data essential for processing global investigator payments in clinical trials. This includes the QC of site budgets, payee data and management of payment related data. The ideal candidate should possess experience within the biopharmaceutical industry, along with expertise in the development and management of study and site budgets, contractual agreements, investigator payment processes, and associated activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience
  • Minimum of four years of experience in clinical trials or related setting
  • Experience with investigator contracts, budgets and site payments
  • Advanced understanding of protocol amendments, amendment effective dates, changes to subject visits and how these changes affect contracts and payments
  • Understanding of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) data and how it impacts payment processing
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, SharePoint and Outlook
  • Must have excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Must be able to learn quickly, be comfortable with new technology systems and adapt to system changes
  • Capable of working independently and being proactive in a team
  • Demonstrates proficiency in performing under pressure and meeting deadlines efficiently
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and communicate professionally with clients
  • Ability to proof-read and detect errors in math and grammar
  • Proficient understanding of basic accounting and budgeting is recommended
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform and manage study-specific, global site payment processes
  • Reconcile information from sponsor-specific documents including budgets and payment terms in contracts, amendments, ancillary agreements and study protocols
  • QC of baseline/template budgets
  • QC site-specific budget information
  • Ensure budgets are ready for payment processing
  • Map client data in ClinRun for use in calculating payments
  • QC of budget amendments
  • Routine upload/import of client data for use in distributing payments
  • Verification of payee data
  • Plan accordingly to achieve timeline milestones and deadlines
  • Understand global contract terms, budgets, and payment schedules
  • Ensuring that payments to investigative sites are aligned with the contract and/or amendment(s)
  • Comprehend global payment terms and processes
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with sites, colleagues, and clients
  • Maintain study-related information to use as reference in daily duties
  • Stay abreast of changes in studies and in contracts
  • Other duties as required and assigned by designated team lead. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
