Job summary

Battelle's Infrastructure Safety and Security (ISS) is seeking a Budget and Financial Management Specialist in the greater Washington, DC area. This full-time role provides acquisition-focused financial management support to DHS, assisting with Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution to ensure funds are used effectively and in compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in budget and financial management.
• DHS T&E Level 1, DAWIA T&E Foundational Level 1, and/or CTEP certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain DHS Suitability.

Responsibilities

• Providing acquisition-focused financial management support to ensure DHS program cost, schedule, and performance goals are achieved and acquisition requirements are met.
• Supporting Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) activities to ensure funds are used effectively and in compliance with federal laws, regulations, and DHS policies.
• Acting as a liaison between DHS components, U.S. government entities, and private organizations on financial and acquisition matters.
• Providing limited procurement support, including market research and inputs for justifications, determinations, and findings.
• Assisting with contract closeout activities.
