Job summary

University of Houston Department of Electrical Engineering seeks a Finance Coordinator to coordinate financial operations for the unit in Houston. You will oversee cash handling, prepare reports, and maintain the internal accounting system in coordination with the Financial Reporting System (FRS).

The role requires at least three years of related experience and a high school diploma or GED. All positions are security sensitive and subject to a criminal history check; University of Houston System

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Maintains and reconciles financial accounts and monitors unit revenues and expenditures.
Coordinates cash handling for petty cash, gift transmittals, and travel reimbursements.
Compiles recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management and faculty.
Updates and maintains an internal accounting system and the FRS database.
Oversees staff in preparation of vouchers, requisitions, SCRs, and travel documents.
Trains staff in financial document preparation per policy.
May coordinate payroll and property inventory; liaises with Grants and Contracts as needed.
Participates in annual budget development.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
