Job summary

The Vermont Department of Health is seeking a Financial Administrator I to join the budget team. The role focuses on developing budgets and expense projections for a portfolio of divisions, monitoring spending against forecasts, and analyzing expenses to support the Department’s mission to promote the health and well-being of Vermonters.

Qualified applicants will have accounting, budgeting, economics, or financial analysis background.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of accounting experience
• Associate's degree in accounting or related field with 2+ years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Experience as Financial Specialist III with the State of Vermont may substitute

Responsibilities

• Develop budgets and expense projections for a portfolio of divisions
• Monitor spending against forecasts and analyze expenses
• Track special fund revenue and expenses
