Job summary

The Iowa Department of Corrections is seeking a Budget Analyst 2 in the Business Office at the Anamosa State Penitentiary. This role prepares and loads the annual budget into the Iowa Advantage system, forecasts revenues and expenses, and tracks large expenditures to keep the budget in balance.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper accounting and coding of revenues, preparing GAAP reports, and assisting state auditors during fiscal audits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Experience equal to two years of full-time work in professional level budget analysis or fiscal management.
• Master's degree in business administration or public administration plus related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and loads the annual budget into the Iowa Advantage system; ensuring budget is in balance prior to the start of the FY.
• Forecasts revenues and expenses, including salary projections, and prepares monthly budget projections.
• Tracks expenses, maintains internal controls, and prepares GAAP reports.
