The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full time Budget Analyst (GG-0560-12), performing as a Budget Analyst – Budget Officer, working at the 867th Cyberspace Operations Group (COG), Fort Meade, Maryland.

This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

Salary ($102,415 - $133,142) based on experience.

This position can close at any time.

Qualifications/Requirements

In this position you will serve as a budget analyst who is fully responsible for the technical aspects of the 867 COG budget and management of resources of specific programs and appropriations.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Top Secret/SCI” Security clearance

This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position

The incumbent is required to undergo a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.

This is a Mission-Essential position that performs a Mission-Critical Function. The incumbent must continue performing these duties without interruption during an emergency and through full resumption of all organizational functions.

The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Financial Management Level 2 certification requirements.

This position requires at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Knowledge of detailed intensive budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes to formulate, justify, and execute difficult and complex budget work assignments in support of the mission, structure, goals, and work processes for substantive programs of assigned activities/organizations.
• Knowledge of automated data processing software program(s) capabilities and usage to accomplish difficult or complex budget/funding tasks.
• Knowledge of the analytical principle, practices, methods to evaluate program plans and funding which involves substantial resources and requires extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
• Skilled in DoD Planning, Programming and Budgeting system (PPBS) to effectively plan resource requirements for new systems and equipment acquisitions.
• Ability to negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relationships is essential to express the organization’s budgetary position to a variety of audiences.
